American Hiking Society’s National Trails Day ®
On Saturday, June 4, 2011, The Henry County Park District, The Buckeye Trail Association, and The Maumee Valley Heritage Corridor will host a National Trails Day Trail Awareness Event. This event will be held at Wayne Park Shelter House in Napoleon from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. Come out and meet the people and organizations who are working to make the trail a world-class destination for all hikers, bicyclists, backpackers and paddle sport enthusiasts. The local trail is part of both The Buckeye Trail- the trail that encircles Ohio, and the National Park Service's North Country Trail- a trail that stretches from Upstate New York all the way to North Dakota. The Event will include presentations, brochures and information, food and beverage service, and transportation to the trail for those wanting to take a brief hike. The Event is free of charge. See the map below for local directions. For additional information on National Trails Day, visit: http://www.americanhiking.org/ntd.aspx See You on the Trail!!
